Lineup official for bigX 2026

Klosterneuburg/Vienna, June 29, 2026 – With the announcement of the official lineup for bigX 2026, organizers XISTA, the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA), and IV are exploring the high-stakes journey of translating a life science discovery at the bench to a company that moves the needle in society.

Scheduled for October 1st on the ISTA campus, this year’s innovation exchange conference will be embedded in a special two-day “Translational Days in the Vienna Region” program jointly organized by XISTA, ISTA, and MedUni Vienna under the theme “Found in Translation”

• Leading Translational Engines: Explore best practices of translating high-risk life science discoveries into world-class companies.The program will bring together leading international translational experts and institutions, including Constantin Coussios OBE, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Innovation at Oxford University, Jens Nielsen, CEO BioInnovation Institute, Katja Rosenkranz, Partner V-Bio and Catherine Emond, Novartis.
   
• New Movements in Austria: Get an exclusive insights into the rapid expansion of the Viennese life science sector, by Manuela Baccarini (Uni Wien), Michaela Fritz (Medical University of Vienna), Elly Tanaka (IMBA), and Maria Rescigno (CeMM), joining us for an exciting new ecosystem announcement.
   
• Cutting-Edge Research: Meet the scientists behind the research identified as having the highest potential for societal impact.Explore how curiosity driven life sciences are translated into tech, that moves the needle in society. Join Hans Danzl and Alexander Bronstein discussing their ISTA breakthroughs with Industry experts.

The conference kicks off on October 1, 2026, at 17:00 (Doors open early at 16:30) at the architectural backdrop of the ISTA Campus in Klosterneuburg.
