Welcome Michael Fink

We are pleased to welcome Michael Fink as Entrepreneur in Residence at XISTA.

Michael brings more than 15 years of experience at the intersection of science, technology commercialization, and venture creation. With a PhD in Chemical Engineering from TU Wien and postdoctoral experience in the Whitesides Group at Harvard University, he has built a career translating breakthrough research into commercial applications and venture-backed companies.

Throughout his career, Michael has worked across academia, startups, and innovation ecosystems, helping bridge the gap between scientific discovery and commercial impact. He has co-founded multiple deep-tech ventures, including Datacule, a company developing molecular data-storage technologies, and VeriChem, which commercializes advanced forensic drug-analysis technologies. Most recently, Michael served as CEO of Mask Logic Ltd, where he led the company’s evolution from an early-stage concept to a technology platform for customized respiratory protection solutions. 

As Entrepreneur in Residence, Michael will work closely with researchers at ISTA's chemistry-related research groups to identify promising technologies, evaluate commercialization opportunities, and help transform scientific discoveries into high-impact ventures.
